2025 Modern Painting Technologies Forum – Innovations in Painting and Powder Coating
The 7th edition of the Modern Painting Technologies Forum took place in Pabianice from October 15th to 17th, 2025, bringing together over 100 participants – experts, engineers, and representatives of companies from the painting and industrial sectors. This year’s conference focused on the automation of painting processes, artificial intelligence in powder coating and process prediction in paint shops, as well as sustainable development (ESG).
The Forum programme included lectures and a Case Study on intelligent coatings, modern industrial materials, recycling and optimisation of painting lines, led by domestic and foreign experts, including those from Fraunhofer IPA and Rzeszów University of Technology. Participants had the opportunity to experience the latest technologies in practice, exchange experiences and take part in networking in the exhibitors’ area, where innovative solutions for the coatings industry were presented.
The event partners included ITM Industry Europe, KRINTech, and the Krosno Business Incubator, and the presence of numerous exhibitors allowed for a closer look at modern powder coating systems and industrial coatings. This year’s Forum once again confirmed Ecoline’s position as a leader in organising industry conferences, combining innovation, education, and the development of modern painting technologies in a single event.

Dr Oliver Tiedje
Special Guest at the Modern Painting Technologies Forum
Speech topic: “An overview of the digitalisation of processes from surface preparation, through liquid and powder coating, to coating curing.”
Dr. Oliver Tiedje is a recognised expert in modern painting technologies and the digitalisation of industrial processes. He holds a doctorate in theoretical physics from the University of Cologne.
He gained experience as a consultant implementing innovative coating processes, and then spent over a decade leading the Liquid Applications and Process Simulation team at Fraunhofer IPA, developing spray methods, low- and dust-free processes, and CFD simulations. He currently serves as a Senior Manager in the Coatings and Multifunctional Materials department, collaborating with industry on solutions in digitalisation and artificial intelligence. Dr. Tiedje is also a lecturer at the University of Stuttgart and an editor at Besser Lackieren Expertennetzwerk.
With a unique combination of academic, industrial, and research experience, Dr. Tiedje brings to the Forum knowledge that sets the direction for the development of modern painting technologies in Europe and worldwide
Fraunhofer IPA – one of the largest institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, specialising in industrial innovation, digitalisation, and process automation.
The institute operates in 11 research areas, supporting industries such as automotive, mechanical engineering, electronics, energy, and surface treatment technologies.
